At Sefa Burnaby Soccer Academy, we’re steadfast in our commitment to nurturing well-rounded, skilled, and confident young players. It’s with immense pleasure that we unveil our latest offering – the Skill Center, meticulously designed to augment our regular training program.

   Our belief is anchored in the conviction that every young player possesses untapped potential. This additional training day is designed to unveil and refine the innate talents of each participant, with a central focus on individual soccer skills and opposed drills.

   At Sefa, we hold a fundamental belief that opposed drills are essential to the development of young players. Only by pitting their wits and skills against another player can youngsters truly grasp how to utilize their training, adapting based on the opponent’s body position, movement, distancing, and timing. Opposed drills facilitate a real-world, game-like environment, fostering decision-making, problem-solving, and the application of skills under pressure.

   Limited to six players per group, the Skill Center ensures personalized attention and an intense focus on individual growth. Participants, matched in groups of similar skill levels, are immersed in an environment that maximizes interactions with defenders and touches on the ball. Here, they’re not just learning; they’re adapting, evolving, and mastering the art of soccer.

   Spanning 6 weeks with sessions slated from Apr 8 to May 13 at the Burnaby Lake Sport Complex West on Mondays and April 10 to May 15 at Cariboo Hill Oval Track & Turf Soccer Field on Wednesdays , the Skill Center is open to both boys and girls aged 7 to 12 from Burnaby, Coquitlam, New Westminster, and Vancouver. At a fee of 150 CAD, participants are not just enrolled in a program—they’re embarking on a journey of discovery, mastery, and excellence.

   With opposed drills at the core, players learn to read the game, understand the dynamics, and apply their skills with precision. Every dribble, pass, and shot is an intricate dance of decision-making and execution. The Skill Center is more than a training ground—it’s a crucible where talent is refined, skills are honed, and future soccer stars are forged.
